Brugal 1888 Gran Reserva Familiar Rum: A limited-edition rum, newly launched in August 2011, and finished in previously used Sherry casks. That Sherry finish contributes so much: the bright copper-penny color, the lush aromas of burnt orange and raisin and the smooth, full-bodied texture. Captain Morgan Private Stock Rum: Deep amber colour; slightly spirity, sweet dark fruit, subtle spice and molasses aromas; slightly sweet, medium bodied, with rich, generous palate, with soft spice and candied fruit flavours; warm and satisfying finish. El Dorado Single Barrel Ehp Demerara Rum: This fine, rich dark-brown rum is distilled from molasses. It is lighter in body than, say, their 15-year-old because it is made from one barrel, as opposed to a blend of several casks, as is the usual technique. As such, each barrel will have a slightly different flavour and aroma profile from each other. EHP stands for Edward Henry Porter, founder of the Enmore sugar factory. The wooden still used to make this rum is from the Enmore facility and is the last of its kind in the world. |

Gosling's Family Reserve Old Rum: TASTING NOTE: The bouquet changes dramatically within the 10-minute nosing period from a baked aroma to an earthy, spicy, woodsy aroma. The palate entry is smooth, intensely oaky, yet semisweet; at midpalate the sweetness picks up in the forms of honey and molasses.
