Connemara 12 Years Old Peated Single Malt: Malt Advocate Magazine's 2010 Distillery of the Year. TASTING NOTE: Nose: Youthful, with myriad citrus notes trying to outdazzle the gathering peat; shows great subtlety and fun; Taste: refreshing, with the barley insisting on behaving half the age it actually is. The smoke appears lethargic but grows into a spicy crescendo; Finish: lots of vanilla amid the dusty malt; lots of coffee fudge to balance the smoke; Balance: the best bottling yet with complexity a byword here. Score: 91 (Jim Murray, Whisky Bible, 2007)

Finishes with a long, grassy peppery spice fade. Score - 93. (tastings.com, May 6, 2009)
