Adar De Elviwines Cava Brut Kp: Our panel was very impressed with this delightful sparkling wine. A blend of Macabeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada grapes, this crisp fizz is made in the traditional method. Showing light toast, citrus and floral aromas on the nose, it's dry and light bodied with crisp fresh apple and citrus fruit flavours leading to a long, focused finish. Very nice and an excellent value. Great with light fish dishes or for celebrations any day of the week. (VINTAGES panel, Aug. 2009)

Antech Expression Brut Crémant De Limoux 2008: This refreshing sparkling wine is made in the traditional method using a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Mauzac (the traditional principal variety of Limoux in Languedoc). Limoux stakes its claim to being the original sparkling wine region, even before Champagne! Aromas of citrus fruit, toast and nuts on the nose. Dry, with a lovely crisp acidity, bold white fruit, pear and custard notes on the palate. Enjoy this flavourful Crémant de Limoux with freshly shucked oysters. (VINTAGES panel, July 2010)

Belcanto Di Bellussi Extra Dry Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene Superiore: Open, fragrant, recognizable prosecco character on the nose, with peach and peach skin, nectarine, and fresh tarragon. The palate gives a very gentle sweet impression and respectable flavour intensity and length, very delicate and inviting overall. The first DOCG-designated prosecco I've tasted, after the recent upgrade in status from mere DOC. Score - 88. (John Szabo, M.S., winealign.com, Oct. 2010)

Bellenda San Fermo Brut Prosecco Superiore 2010: Pale straw colour with a very plentiful and vibrant fizz. It is dominated by aromas of apples, mineral, pear, lanolin and a touch of fresh pastry. Dry with good fruit and a round mouthfeel. A rather robust Prosecco for moderately rich seafood dishes, such as shrimp scampi. It is also a nice choice for the classic cocktail, Bellini. (VINTAGES panel, May 2011)

Blue Mountain Brut: ... this blend of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot gris was aged for a relatively long 24 months in bottle, like decent Champagne, to mingle with bubble-producing yeast. An almost-sweet lemon core resolves into a bone-dry, toasty finish. The big draw here is the texture, though. Its bubbly mousse is delicate and smooth rather than vigorously frothy. Tough to limit yourself to just one glass; it goes down so easily. Score - 91. (Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, Dec. 10, 2010)
